This is the first time I've ever really explored a derelict building, I've been tempted to visit this mill for a while, I've passed it twice weekly on the train for the past three years. Woke up this morning and decided to go have a look, seen as I had nothing better to do.
I thought I might accidently step on something sharp buried underneath the snow while I was there, fortunately I didn't, the only damage I did to myself was falling on my arse while walking to the mill on the extremely icy road...
Sorry if the pictures are a bit shoddy, I'm not a photographer, and they were taken on my phone.
The main building I wanted to have a look at.
There were two of these little green huts with saws in, just to the right of the building.
Some small building with a bucket load of machinery inside.
Inside of said building.
Pipes round the back, there were a bunch of these leading to every part of the building.
I found thread by TK421 about the same place when got back home, I think this is the same cart as he photographed.
Some toilets round back.
Wall inside the toilets.
Peeked in through a window.
There was a second building down the road, I'm not sure what it was, or who owned it, but I thought I'd check it out while I was close by.
Another large building connected to the other by pipes
I walked back to the first building again to see if there was anything I missed, some guy in a hard hat and fluorescent jacket came around the corner when I got there, I gave him a friendly wave to let him know I wasn't some kind of psycho and asked if it was ok that I was taking photos, he wasn't exactly angry with me, but he said that I shouldn't be taking photographs or walking around there without the land owners permisson, so I went into polite british mode, apologised and left. Good thing he only spotted me when I was about to leave!
It was really interesting exploring a building like this, definately going to do it again sometime.
EDIT: Holy crap, I just searched for BOCM Selby and it seems a bunch of you guys have already been here, sorry if this thread is considered spam. :/
