Thought i would put up some pics of the interior of the bonded warehouse on hanover street following on from Melvin Faust's excellent report recently. Sorry about the quality of the pics as it was a case of trying to get round as much as possible in a short time this place made me feel very nervous what with dodgy floors etc still i hope its an insight as to what it may have looked like many years before, the pics are dating back to around 2003 2004 time.

Similar one as before but it was a a great view from that window, its difficult to imagine people are actually living in this building now when you think whats happened to it over the years the worst in recent times with fires and general neglect at one point it looked certain to be demolished wether anyone is buying or renting though in this climate remains to be seen. Thanks for looking and sorry if some of the images were a bit dark.

Great work Dave! :)

Your Report compliments MF's well. The first pic is me fave. Also loving those stone corbels supporting the roof timbers.

Fantastic stuff dave, I've always wanted to see what the warehouse looked like inside. Thanks for sharing these photos.

I walked past the warehouse yesterday. The agency responsible for renting/ selling the apartments has an office built into the ground floor. There was a bloke making enquiries at their sales desk so I guess some people are still considering moving in there

gorgeous stuff, its nice to see what it was like inside before it was gutted... always a place i've been interested in, even before i got into urbex!
very nice pics! i love the last two!

Those windows and the huge stone arches are to die for and the ferns in the patch of light are lovely. Great to be able to see inside...it really is an amazing building. Cheers for that, dave. :)

Superb. I was caught up in Newcastle the night they burned. Took a good few hours to get on the metro and I remember vividly the yellow smoke billowing from them.
Cheers for those Dave, I would have loved to see them first hand, but, your pic's will more than do.

I remember being on the quayside watching the first time this place caught fire, and i was working in town for the latest one.
I always thought there would be nothing left to burn but it didn't half go up, and seemed to be burning for ages!!!

Was quite a site a few days afterwards, you could see the building was actually leaning outwards. Its hard to believe it, looking at the place now!
oh, and gorgeous flats, just horrendously over priced...

thanks for the compliments guys when i first gained access(2003 2004) it was after the first big fire circa late 90s i think when they decided to demolish the first part of the warehouse which i think was numbered 50 plus the modern brick built extension visible on Melvins pictures. Of course it was a no go area after the second fire which virtually gutted the whole building. TBH it was a little bit of a let down inside as it had been totally stripped but i did find some old tickets with details of goods sherry whiskey and tobacco etc etc from the 20s and 30s i'll dig them out and scan them and put them up on here for you to see. Apparently the warehouse next door which was burnt down and demolished was full of paperwork what a sickener still something is better than nothing.

Great pics Dave, it's good to be able to get a look at places that are not available to explore anymore.

I can see my office in a few of those pics too!
