Visited this on a day out with Rubex, I enjoyed looking round this, never relised how large the silos are untill you are close up to them. Looking inside there was some nice pillars with lots of natural light coming through.

The 130-acre site has been vacant since the British Sugar factory closed in 2001 but the former silos remain, a reminder of its industrial past.

The British Sugar plant located in Ipswich, was one of the rash of beet producing plants to be built after the First World War. This was encouraged by the 1925 Sugar Industry (Subsidy) Act.

The plant was built in 1924-25 by the Anglo-Dutch Sugar Company on a 100-acre site. The main contracting firm were Hal Williams and Co.
