Hey everyone.

Apologies if this post is in the wrong place, I figured it was the best part of the forum. Admin - please feel free to move this post, or delete if I am breaking any rules here.

A few months ago me and my other half took a wander along to Buckland to find the sand and silica works that have been reported here before. I had done my research, I was 99.9% certain I knew where we were going, we arrived to the exact spot only to find foundations and a few bits of twisted up metal on the ground. There were a could of small buildings near by still standing but not what we were looking for.

Has anyone been recently? The buildings that can be seen on google maps that I thought were the location are definitely gone. We searched about the area for hours but didn't find anything. Still a lovely day out none the less!

Please note - I am not asking for help locating this place, I am just looking to confirm if it has been demolished.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Well whaddya know? I just checked the latest Google Earth imagery and it seems it was all gone by July - I was there in February, so it must have come down shortly after that.

Sorry you missed it but cheers for the heads up.

That's odd - when I go on google maps in satellite mode it still shows up! Gutted we missed out, really wanted to see this place. The place you linked is exactly where we were. The building with the blue door at the top of the mound is still standing, and the toilet block in the trees, but the rest is gone! :(

Oh well, you snooze you loose!

But thank you very much for your response and the confirmation, saves us another wild goose chase!
