Buckston Brown Farm was my first Urbex experience, not knowing what to expect i was filled with excitement but with a little caution.

We arrived on a beautiful Sunday morning and spent a good 2 hours at this location. To some this must feel like a eerie and horrid place to be due to its past but I was fascinated, exploring the corriors and rooms/ labs either side. Further on we came across 2 large rooms where someone had by the looks of it just dumped lots of various items well worth having a look

A little history about Buckston Browne Farm.

Located in Downe, Kent This facility built in 1931 as a surgical research centre by the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) til it closed in the 1990's, In the 1980s, the farm caused controversy because of its use of vivisection techniques, and in August 1984 it was raided by anti-vivisection activists.

Hope you enjoy some of my pics :)

Gone!

I attempted to visit this site the other day......its very busy there with workmen referbishing the main buliding. I also spyed a demolishan van on site?

Yes. The main farmhouse block is to be retained and everything else will be demolished. To my mind most of the buildings were too far gone and really not worth keeping anyway.

Probably better that way,if they are making this into a residential site,I'm sure peeps wouldn't want to purchase a flat/apartment that was once a lab for torturing animals,I certainly wouldn't

I'm sure it will be lovely when done, but will still have a stigma attached to it.
