Hi all, I have worked at this bus depot for 15years now and have not really been nosey and looked around the secret places of it. I've heard of storage spaces under the pits where old parts have bben dupped but today an engineer approched me. he said "Here I know you like to photo old derelict stuff, come look at this". I walked over to what I always thought was the old fuellers office/room but on forcing the door open it shows a staircase. we walked down to a small room under the present fueling area which has the old fuel storage tank which supplied the old boiler which is still there. From what we could find out the current boiler was installed in 1998, but on the name plate of the boiler not in use Im sure its dated 1982?? but still 16years not in use and the current fuel tanks were installed before I started working here.
Still a nice little find right on my doorstep as such. Not many pics taken but to me still interesting.
Phil

Cracking detail in them pics mate i like them, The boiler plate part that you read i think you are on about the Btu heat rate number at the bottom but the date is actually ath the top near enough and says 1976 :)

Close but not quite. The 1976 is a suffix to the previous British standard number (bs779). This clarified which edition of the bs it complies with.

Exactly right.

The 'clue' is where it says Date Of Manufacture and then etched 7-82.

I am known as pedantic though :)
