I think everyone and their gran has been around Buxton uni at some point but I was bored and had a couple of hours to kill so here's my report.

Formerly known as High Peaks College, it became part of the University of Derby in 1998. The Harpur Hill Campus closed in 2006 as the University moved into their newly refurbished spa facilities at the Devonshire campus in the centre of Buxton.

Derby University can be dated back to 1850's where various schools joined together over the following years which helped the university achieve the skills to offer a verity of subjects. These amalgamated schools became the Derbyshire College of Higher Education. It was one of only a couple of colleges of higher education to gain university status in 1992.

First thing I came across was the obligatory lonely chair shot

Since my last walk around anything of value has been stripped out

Thanks Yido, the site is really going downhill with the floor getting lifted in places now so people can get at the pipes :(

Great photos! Nice to see it's still standing :) what got my attention was there was still students work lying around in the art block, and chemicals/enlargers in the photography darkroom  it was like they'd left it for the day!

very nice photos.. Love how you can get roof access too :)

roof access is really easy there are ladders (shown on pic) or there is a stairway up

The site has been trashed recently Jimba finding anything in one piece was impressive, even the ovens have been tipped over and smashed

That doesn't surprise me in the slightest. We went twice within the space of a week and between those visits, it had been more trashed. Apparently, they're planning to turn it into some flats or something.

Roof access as PaulPowers has said, is dead easy. Be careful though, it's quite easy to be spotted as there are houses around.
