Visited with King Al and Disco Kitten.

Having only planned a quick mooch around the outside of the site, we ended up seeing a lot more than originally expected.

I turned up early and purely by chance, spotted Disco Kitten emerging into view. Just as we got talking, Al turned up in his luxurious new car and it was almost immediately decided that we'd go in.

A fire was burning in the centre of the site, casting an eerie light on the water tower and boiler chimney.

Looking round, we couldn't spot any sign of the corridor network - and even the larger wards were starting to succumb to the inevitible.

We headed towards admin, it was looking bare and tired, but still incredible.

From admin, we gradually made our way round the female side of the hospital - one target was Lidgett / Lettsom and to see if the pool table or Piano remained in situ

All the small outer wards had disappeared, Cruden / Chaucer, Ellis, Guy. Johnson / Jenner had already started to go.

After finding a tiny bit of corridor in tact, we scouted round to Kings / Keats - the corridor ended abruptly and a cross section including service tunnels was revealed.

Finally, we sadly found the front of Lidgett / Lettsom - a JCB sat where the piano used to be.

Fantastic pictures, how log where your exposures on pictures 2 & 3?

Cheers Lost and MaBs

Fantastic pictures, how log where your exposures on pictures 2 & 3?

Pic 2 = 2 mins 22 seconds

Pic 3 = 1 min 38 seconds

They have all been edited to bring out some of the detail.

Great stuff

Great pics there Mr Bones,I was wondering how progress was going there...lovely star trails too.

I find these photographs both eerily beautiful and crushingly depressing at the same time. Some lovely shots capturing the end as the institution that was Cane Hill slips from physical reality into urban exploration legend.

All the best,
Simon

These photographs are absolutely phenonomal. Really, I know people fling about a lot of praise, but these are amazing. I've got to get a cable release so that I can start doing exposures for longer than thirty seconds.

Great pics Mr B!! Admin looks amazing, Pic 2 looks like day light! it creates an interesting effect how you can see the outside wall of the building suddenly turn in to an internal wall with the blue door intact, good but eerily morbid at the same time

Thanks Simon, I would have to agree i was thinking along the lines of what you said when i was there taking the photos

Much appreciated Liam, most of these photos have been tweaked as many of the originals were pretty dark (Yes Al, the one with the lens cap on was very dark). If you have a steady enough hand, you can get away with holding the button down instead of using a remote (as i did with these).

Must have been quite a shock for you Al, not until you see the destruction first hand that it really hits you.

Cheers Ali, glad I went up there in the end. Good to have been joined by the others.

Top notch pics Mr. B! :)

The shot of Admin is truely stunning. Always good when the skies are clear

Thanks for sharing,
