Chateau 3
From as far back as the early middle ages there was a military structure on the site of the current keep. The tower of Chamborant fell with the Bridiers to the English after the battle of Poitiers (1356), during which they killed the knight Imbert de Chamborant.
Currently derelict though it does show signs of restoration it's more of a fortified keep than a Chateau.
Made my usual undignified entrance through a tiny hole.

Where would we be without the obligatory bog shot. Wouldn't want to sit on that on a frosty morning.

Across the tower at more doorways

On the way back to the A20 I came across this Dolmen du Bagnol

In the middle of a donkey field - Gallic reverence for the past!
Thanks for looking
