This place closed in the 1950s, but surprsingly much of it is still intact. Well..the interesting parts. Not much else is known about the place, as google ain't helping me much. Apparently it continued to operate during WW2, because all of the young lads who weren't bright enough for the army, went to make bricks. Here's the pics from today:

The cycle track, that was once a main railway line between Alloa and Dunfermline.

Not entirely sure what this was, I could have gone in..but having 50 tons of corroding brick above me made it not such a good idea.

A brick made here.

They had their own little quarry, this is from the top of. Nice views.

Not sure what this is/was.

Someone seemingly burnt a bed in here once.

Long way up..or down.

It was possible to go inside the chimney as well, but the massive amount of sleeping pigeons put me off, and this mountain of bird ***** in the corner did too.

Cheers,

nice chimney. shame so much of the site is gone. good photos!

I was gonna say they too were firing kilns, and the green topped thing, maybe an old petrol/diesel pump?

The amount of pigeon sh*t in the base of that chimney + a hot day meant it was stinking when I went the other day!
Didn't hang about too long at the base of the chimney but did venture into the kilns, not a lot in them really.

Will sort my pics & post them on my site in a bit
