This was a and has been a long time coming. Since the announcement of the closure of this power Plant was made we began preparation over a 2 and a half years ago. We did a lot of planning. In some ways perhaps this made it easier than we expected, even with a outer/ inner fence. "2 x moats to cross  and a electric fence that was built to keep terrorists out, just not explorers :nevreness:.

We did a dry run a week before to see how it would go, then there was a announcement made it was closing 3 days early. To which our plan swung unto action a bit earlier than planned :). Our first visit was the night of closure, which was a butt clenching time to be honest :nevreness: With the noise and the workers doing stuff inside not only looking around you but also up and down through the latticework metal walking areas very nervous time indeed but we kept our heads and have been in and out since March 16 basically chipping away bit by bit. Think i have spent the most time here with a number of Solo runs think its either 19 or 20 times in. keeping it off the radar meant that security where not aware anyone had been in. This was almost ruined by a few guys who had been chased so we heard. Have met some guys from Manchester in the last few months, we showed them where to wash up and get cleaned. Nice to be helpful that way showed them other interesting bits and bobs as they said they where short of time

Some fact This was the third largest Coal fired power station Europe at the time of closure. It was the largest when built Generating 2400 megawatts. With a chimney of 183m (600ft or as it tells you at the bottom 932 steps ??? partners didn't want to use the elevator :wtf:

I have over 3000 pics of the place over my visits but only 1100 are edited as been busy. was hoping to have them all done but this will have to do and will try and limit the number i put up.

At this point in time we have not posted this publicly and we will not do so. Reason for this is so other may have a chance. This site is heavily patrolled and at this point they now there have been attempts but are unaware any have got in past the outer fence-line. We suspect things will change once they do/

Welcome to the Longhouse :)

Since i did this report things changed dramatically. Someone either got caught or chased as the way in was blocked and barricaded quite well. Since then this in decommissioning stage Brown and mason are on site and all the turbines have been systematically removed . Having done all the power stations that have closed up here in the last 10 years Inverkip would have been swallowed by this place without notice

would give it about 8 months before its flattened

Only a half the place and no where near the pics i have of it. As i say a lot are still unedited as well as undisclosed that we would guess was missed

Gob smacked!!! LOVE IT!!:applause:

smashing images, felt a bit dizzy at times, wow wot views!

Kudos for posting in non public:wink:

Interesting stuff, we're lucky to have seen sites like this, Inverkip, Cockenzie and so on - pretty soon there won't be anything comparable.

Scottish Power definitely know people have been exploring it … I know a couple of guys from Manchester who were surprised by a worker in the main control room at 3am one morning at the start of the year, and had to flee. They were pretty lucky to get away.

Yes so do i it was me that helped them get in. As did a reccy the night before between my day and nights. I had a clear run then in November we had already explored most of the place since closure night in march 2016 with no issues. That's when they fixed the blockade with steel sheeting as well as scaffolding and boards.

Think they where just unlucky to be honest and the control room was stripped not that long after wolfie. The reccy the night before was a case of all the monitors of the walls Pc from turbine controls on the each station too.
