I really fancied this place a lot, so when up there visiting the girlfriend we made a little trip to it. It's actually quite beautiful and considering were it's sitting it's reasonably untouched. In all the places I have been this area had to be the most of unsettling I have ever encountered. You just feel you have to keep your wits about you at all times. When you enter the estate, slap bang in the middle is one massive CCTV camera. You are surrounded by a whole range of abandoned flats, church and shops. The Clune Park estate was built to provide housing for workers that were working in the thriving shipyards around the area in the 1920's. The estate has declined over the years, and now just a handful of people live there. The council want to demolish the area, but are having issues with private landlords. The school opened in 1887 and served the local children till it's closure in 2008. The school is listed now along with the church. We did not bother with the flats or church, it was the school I mainly wanted to see. And I did not fancy walking in on someone living there by mistake.

The upstairs is prob one of the nicest areas I have seen with natural decay and greenery growing in. The staircase going through the levels is quite stunning.

That is truly lovely mate.
Fantastic pics

Nice set of photos. I used to work fro a company in Port Glasgow back the '80s - Sangamo. I wonder how any of my colleagues went to that school? I'm sure they'd be saddened to see it in such a state? Then again some of them may not?

Great work hope to see some more of your explorations/

Post Glasgow is one hell of a rough place, easily the toughest in Scotland, maybe the U.K.
At the peak of runaway housing (2007) inflation you could buy a red sandstone flat for £4k but I’d want paid to live there.
Much of the town is derelict.
