Crane manufactures valves and fittings used in controlling the flow of liquids and natural gas. During 2008, production moved from Ipswich to the company's facilities in China and Hitchin. It has since sold the Ipswich site's buildings and land to Borderbeach Ltd, a subsidiary of Allied Property and Leisure Ltd. Crane Fluid's Ipswich facility used to employ 700 workers but is now derelict.

Had some help from Piky 4 fingers, merrily stripping the place but guided me to the ARP entrance and some other bits.

I love crane its somewhere thats kept me coming back, theres lots to see and the place has a great history. Its just a shame to see it going town hill so rapidly. The state of the labs and the medical room in comparison to just 8 months ago is very striking.

I'm pleased people are taking the time to see this one as it seems doubtful if it will be around much longer.

Interesting a place as cool as this only gets 3 replies yet a farmhouse gets upto 4 pages of replies?????????

Nice work Cgull, good to see at least some people are visiting decent sites ;)

Worked at that site in 1998, was being invested in as Cranes main European site. What went wrong ? (hint, China doesn't have any CO2 emissions policy)
