Before me and my sexy sidekick entered the building we knew nothing about it. Just that demolition had already begun so we needed to move like mad. Stealth went straight out the window and a blatent daylight entry was the way forward.

Croda Chemicals Europe Ltd do exactly what they say on the tin, Chemicals and flipping loads of them from Explosives to Health care products for both people and animals from the information on there website they do everything inbetween too. Anyway heres a few snaps hope you like....

great report. Could the storage tank in the ground type thingy be an interceptor tank?

nice one dude.
pics are getting better. just need to rotate them now :D

that has not changed since me, scrub and Jamepp went.

did you go in to any of the other buildings?

the one on the right of demo pic is full of smashed up cars.
it was blocked by a high-top van.
there was a open window you can climb up to really easy but there is a 15-20 foot drop down the other side.

here you go, one of mine :D

With regards to the car storage building. As you can see from the first picture (if you look really hard) there's a red ford escort estate. The guy was in the car storage building. How ever i was not put off and brazen as i could be stroled up and had a chat with imm asking if he knew anything about the chemical plant. TBH it looked like he was hotwiring the estate but he wall polite and well spoken so i left him to it.

Picture wise was a bit of a gorilla mission, no tripod, tiny had held camera (nothing like the one i brought when we first met. But like i said "blatant daylight entry" :)

We had a good old time. Just looking for something that bit more exiting really. The misses had a good time.

I've started buying up all my own equipment now. Plus in my line of work if theres some specialist equipment needed i can take it home one night.

If i knew what an intercepter tank was i'd enter an in depth debate with you. There was a fixed submersed pump which you may not be able to see in the pictures. I guess there would have been one at each end but i only lifted the one cover.

Its basically a tank connected to the drains where chemicals etc get captured to stop it getting into the watercourse

Great report!! Croda used to have a plant at Swinton, South Yorks, you could see it from the Sheffield-Doncaster railway line, always fascinated me, such a bleak place with big pools of tar, it produced bitumen. The plant is long gone, but reclamation of the site is ongoing, and no doubt a big job with all the polluted land. Next door is a marvelous boat builders yard 'Waddingtons' for the big industrial canal barges still in use, it always looks like a great explore, but is very much a live site!!

Cheers mate. That industrial boat house does sound like a very interesting explore. Get you stealth kit out and go do it. I'd very interested to veiw the thread for that.

It was very bleak place but a very good explore. Even the misses enjoyed it.

Cheers for the information Fezzyben i was wondering what purspose the tank served.
