Continued:
Ok so a few days after my first adventure I heard about the ghost city of Famagusta, deserted since the Turkish invasion of '74
It was extremely difficult to get pictures of this place due to the (again) machine gun toting guards who would actively burst down from their little wooden huts and take your camera gear from you, no questions asked.
I won't try to describe stuff because there's not much to say, except it was a sight to behold, an entire city slowly rotting away with construction cranes swaying in the wind. Very wierd. Surely some enterprising soul can arrange for (us) to visit the insides of what appears to be an urbex enthusiasts wildest dream! I heard there's a garage full of Mk1 Ford Cortinas gathering dust in there somewhere...
On with the pics:
First views from far off:
Closer ( looking down the bay )
The 'trick' to taking photos is pretending to take photos of each other down on the beach, which I exploited as best I could. I can only whinge about the denial of access to this amazing place.
There I am, exploiting the er, loophole.
I suppose these must have been hotels at some point, one of them had lost some of it's lift structure during a storm.
Yeah yeah no photos, bite me.
Check out part three for yet more fun and games in cyprus!
