Hi all. Took me ages to learn how to upload so please forgive.

Daw mill coillery...

Spur of the moment joyride with my sis and her kids.
Iwas here about 13 years ago the house nearby was still safe to explore.
The pikeys have done a good job with it, to dangerouse to walk around. Didnt even take pics i dont think.
Anyways it was quiet and a good 3 hours exploring the area (this was first time about 3 months ago)

Nice site that. Shame most the buildings no longer exist.

my brother and I went down an access tunnel that goes underneath all the old buildings that you remember.
I would say we went 15 mins in.No signal on fone after about 2 mins very weird cold and hot and wet feeling.
We got to a point where we needed a shovel to dig out a blocked bit. I must admit i was getting a bit scared.

Btw this tunnel visit was a week after this visit.

This is in walking distance from my home, is the house about 300yards away worth a look in, it used to have a sign outside stating it was "not for sale".....

Yes about 300 yards past the gates. I was there years ago when it was safe to explore.
Theres still some lovely shots to be taken around it such as the old coal carriage.
I would deffo advise dont go in the house it is falling apart. It has been stripped of value
and the roof looks like it could cave in at any moment.

Such a shame, village is hoping daw mill is reinstated back to nature.... was very odd when the mine shut down, so many people lost their jobs and homes as a result

Its not happening. Its gone. Wierd thing is theres a housing estate being built nearby forgot what it was called. TBH Im gonna take a last look asap and go further into the access tunnel.

The only fear now is leaving my car by the gates while I go down it.
Its getting a bit dodgy round there.

I have been trying to contact the owners of this development in order to construct a motorsport park over the remains, it would input local jobs in the community and furthermore give the local community somewhere to visit... Anyone who has information about this please drop it onto an email to

Any assistance would be welcomed, many thanks in advanced.

Have a look at the Land Registry. Most of the UK Coal sites passed to Harworth Estates.

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback, i have spoken with Harworth Estates, and discussing the potential of utilising the site.
