A work colleague showed me his paper today and excitedly asked if I had been to this 'Insane Asylum'.
Yes, I recalled what a spectacular building it once was and what happens with articles like this in the tabloids.

Fire comes a day after former hospital features in national newspapers

Yesterday, the asylum featured in several national newspapers including the Daily Mirror. Drone footage taken by filmmaking student Lee Rielly was featured which showed the building’s graffiti-strewn walls, rickety staircases and collapsed roofs.

He released the footage to show people “true urban explorers see the history” of places of beauty and interest.

Student behind drone footage of hospital is 'gutted' by fire

Lee Rielly hit the nationals yesterday with his footage of the old asylum. He has tweeted to say he’s gutted by the news.

Such a shame,I don't know why they can't just convert the original buildings as they have done at the old asylum at Devizes

They made sound job of that

Apparently it was in an old service building to the back of the asylum which isn't covered by the listing. There is nothing to burn at all in the listed parts any more.

Did the same at Fairmile though it did have a fire in the new buildings when some kids lit one up
