A common danger we all face when exploring unused buildings is what the building was used for in its everyday working day, none more so than this place. Located not far from the main Denso/Lucas Factory, it was in its previous life a place for sorting and filtering nasty chemicals from the water output. Full of nasty chemicals that wouldn't look out of place in a mad sciencetist's lab, it still is nasty today. I wore safety gear including safety wellies, overalls, gloves, respirator and a hard hat (thinking about safety all the time). I hope these pics do the place justice as I couldn't really see it through my visor.

Oooh. Milk of lime! Magic stuff but you definately don't want it in your tea! And caustic soda wouldn't be too good either, unless you want to turn your insides into soap... Hypochlorite not too bad - just a posh name for bleach really!! Probably used to stop bugs growing in a cooling tower.

I'm a bit sad, I know.

Very nice! I just was intrigued by the title "Effluent House", I thought it was going to be a sewage works or something.Love all the cool H&S signs too and words like Sulphonator etc. Top site
