DRI Revisited - May 14

[Old No.13]

Had a drive down to Derby today or a couple of hours in the old DRI and, man, it's proper trashed now. As we wandered around the perimeter there were guys trying to beef up the security fencing and the main gate now has permanent fencing installed. Pretty futile exercise as there are still plenty of ways in. This bourne out by the number of people in there, we counted at least twelve in the main building. Including four or five guys appaterntly smashing everything then saw, two guys running around with a ladder and johny foreigner wandering around looking for the mates he'd come in with.

Just about everything in the main building is smashed and stripped although there is still stuff to see and remarkably quite a lot of equipment remains tucked away in various rooms. Well worth another visit though as I've still to venture into the tower block and not seen the pool or morgue.

I think they are optical, but Icould be wrong. It has been known

Yes, I'm thinking they are optical too. There is also an absolute load of digital thermometers too, so that part really is somewhat of a mystery.
