****PRE-LOCKDOWN EXPLORE *****
1. The History
Next to no information on this pair of farm worker’s cottages at Langholme in Lincolnshire. There’s a little more about the manor farmhouse across the road, as it was Grade II listed in July 1987. Dating from 1790-1800, it cuts a sad and dilapidated image.
2. The Explore
So, after a day of initial failure, the derps came good. The second pair of farm worker’s cottages here in the depths of Lincolnshire. Unloved and left to fall down, this pair of cottages are nothing special. They are empty and long abandoned with no to zero hope of ever being restored. The Google Earth image is clearly from a long time, since these symmetric houses are in much better condition and the trees that have grown up in front and the ivy smothering it are nowhere to be seen. It’s a real shame as these could have been cosy little rural homes. While pretty unspectacular, with the lovely March-afternoon light shafting over them, there was some photographic merit to be seen here.
3. The Pictures
First up, the inaccessible manor farm (far too close to a live farm):

The nicest feature is this bedroom fireplace which is yet to be ripped:
