huuuuuge huuuuge place would of been a most epic explore a few years back, unfortunatly its heavily sealed the nailzzz in the doors are EPIC, looks like pikies have been on the roof for the lead not to mention the underground cables

we only managed a quick walk down the access road between a few buildings and poke our heads in a few broken windows doesnt look to be much there to be honest but the offices are also huge and couldnt see in them

thats about it, sorry no history or idea of when it closed

I tried here myself recently and had no joy either.

I am surprised that it has been locked down for so long, although it is quite exposed at the front on that fairly busy road which I am guessing will help prevent vandalism.

H. Flude & Company was founded in 1926 by Harry Flude in partnership with William Collins. At first it operated from a room over a stable. In 1929 a modern single storey building was erected on Rugby Road, which was greatly enlarged over the next thirty years. The company also had a factory on Netherley Road (now demolished).

There seems to be another huge place further down the Rugby road, not sure if that may be another derelict without going back that way sometime soom. Seems this was quite a popular place for this kind of industry.

Scroll down to Rugby road:)

About two or three years ago it was disused but the office was still in use. The old maintenance manager was still working there and he gave me the run of the place... it was still FULL of stuff. I got in a week or so ago and like your pics show it's been stripped from head to toe. I'll sort out my pics from before that happened.

I've been inside recently too, Its worth a look but as you say its now mostly empty.

I'd like to get in the 50's block at the front though. Its been subdivided off from the main works area. Presumably it was let out as unit for a time.
