Jeez, it's gotten cold on Malta, reeeeeeeal cold, snow from above cold, for the first time since 1962 Malta has had real snow, and only the fifth time in over 200 years.
The houses are built to dissipate heat as fast as possible and can't stand cold, I can't either and as the houses don’t have heating Slammer is freezing his goolies off.
In fact outside is warmer than inside so regardless of my colossal man cold (and I really do suffer) I saddled Iron pig and went for a ride to Fort Campbell.
Built in 1937 high on a ridge at Selmun Fort Campbell is the last of the great forts to be built on Malta and it marks the end of colonial fortress building, it is unique as the forts design has taken airpower into consideration, and instead of massive walls and casemates the walls and buildings are spread out over a large area.
It was abandoned in the early seventies and is now a favourite spot for illegal rave parties, but when it is not vibrating to the thumpthumpthump of techno it is a nice place to walk and spend a few hours; the views are needless to say spectacular.

Outstanding location and scenery, enjoyed seeing this. Never thought cold would be an issue on Malta!

Tell me about it, I am baking bricks on the gas cooker just to get the chill out of the air, treble socks on my feet and I can still feel the cold through the tiles, people walk around with thick coats and hats and scarves and you can tell the tourists from the locals, they are the buggers running around in t-shirts, shorts and sandals wondering why everybody is shivering.

Love places like this. The designing in of functionality has led to some really interesting shapes!
Thanks for sharing! :)
