Fullers Earthworks- April 2012

Had a little potter around Fullers Earthworks today with daimo_45 .
I understand this site has been looked at and done by everyone, butit was my first time there and wanna share my pictures.

Fullers Earth Union Ltd was incorporated on 21 March 1890. In 1954 Fullers’ Earth Union Ltd joined the Laporte Group. There were 780 employees at Redhill at that time. The quarry and associated works enjoyed success until 1997, when the works and associated quarry was closed. The quarry is now a busy landfill site, and the works is now slowly decaying. For a while post closure the big warehouse was used as a waste transfer station, but this operation has now also ceased and the whole place is empty.

Good pics,nicely captured.You will find with certain places even if they have been done many times most people see enjoy seeing them again.Denbigh Asylum is a good example.

i dont no what they were mate, but there was a room full.

Earth samples, actually. I would guess that either the MOD or manufacturer sold the empty cannisters as surplus and the company bought them for storage as they were cheap and watertight.
