Been really very quiet this last many months for one reason or another but managed a quick mooch in the holidays round a spot nearby which has been on the list for a bit.

It was a quick jog round. All of it is well boarded up, the main house in particular but this visit was just a quick browse, especially as the main centre at the front by the roadside was closed for the holidays.

The most I've been able to find out is that it was once was a Fyffes ripening facility which would explain the sheer acreage of derelict greenhouses and greenhouse founds.

It's a big site and theres quite alot to see so maybe a return visit might be in order at some point.

That is one cracking looking house! it has a french feel to it. a shame there was no access!
Well photographed too

I do like a derelict garden centre and this looks like one I visited a wee while back. The greenhouses here were enormous and in good nick. A waste to see them lying like this.

I saw some pics inside the mansion on an estate agents website a number of years back. It looked bland and featureless.

It's a shame. (like so many of the paces on here) The house is in a cracking spot, well off the road with countryside and a river "at the bottom of the garden" more or less.
Like everything, it's money I suppose at the end of it all. With a bottomless supply, I'm sure you could do wonderful things with the house and surrounding.
Didn't fancy having a wander in the greenhouses. I've seen The Omen.
