I totally forgot about these pictures I had taken at the Get Carter Car Park open day, 26/04/08. I thought I'd post them for you fellow members. I was interested in all the empty shops below and I soon found myself inside!
What an explore, I have too many pictures to show but I do have some from Gregs the bakers. Thinking back it was one of the best explores I have ever done, so many empty shops, stair cases and store rooms to see.

Old Gregs till, must have been here since the place was open. I should have saved it.

Sorry but I was desperate, I'm proud to be the last user of the Greggs staff toilet!

Look closely, you'll see the cab of my restored Scammell Scarab truck blending in with the cream mainsoary paint somewhere.

Well...Its not exactly a Sunbeam Alpine, but it does!! She can run on unleaded you know! My Morris Minor 1000, Mozzie.

Interesting. Have they come to a halt with this thing?? Last I heard they were struggling to come up with a plan for demolishing the carpark.

The car park's still open, not sure what's going on with the shops though.

There's some big fences/boarding around the entire site but whenever I walk by there's never anything happening..possibly something to do with it being about 6pm though. Doesn't look like anything obvious in the way of demolition has happened for a while.

There's a couple of new signs recently appeared on the boards warning about CCTV and how anything captured is stored in a remote location (?).
My favourite sign though, has to be the one of a bloke sat at a laptop with the quote: "I like to chill in the cyber cafe while my other half shops in Trinity Square"

'Cyber cafe', 'chill', yup Gateshead is going to be that futuristic when they eventually get round to sorting it out. :)
