Winter? It's like that in summer!

Great that you got to take those piccys. I love this site. Hopefully it will stay around a bit longer for more people to visit.

There were originally two headstocks. The one which was taken away (nicked by pikeys!) was smaller and next to the hut with the winder in. If you look around the whole site there is also evidence of pikeyness where the power came in. A tipped over and emptied transformer - the sort that power villages - and in the accessable places cables are stolen.

My prediction is that the remaining headstock will be taken for another mine (though not in this country :( ) or used as scrap.

Even in summer the access road to this place sparkles like it has a frosty covering. It is made of rejected crystals.

I really hope the health an safety guys don't pay this place a visit and make the landowner pull the headstock down.

Nice one Morrissey, tis a real Mecca for me and Sausage is this place. Everytime we drive past we have to stop and worship the great headgear god:)

Even in October its icy up there. Thats why they have 8 feet poles every few yards along the roads there so you know where the road is when it snows!
