Dude, is that on Woodplumpton Brook?? By Inskip? That looks like Carvers Bridge in the background, as a kid around about 45 years ago ( ) me and my mates used to take a trek across the fields and go swimming and catching catfish around about there... playing 'war' on the gun emplacement too. Ahh, those were the days, when summer really was summer

Yes mate it is :)

Hehehe, thanks mate, brought back loads of great memories for me. And I think the bridge is a modern one, I don't remember it being quite so white and shiny.
The other one is not too far away, if you'd gone north along the brook you'd probably have stumbled across it just here --> http://goo.gl/maps/L2Fo2

This house --> http://goo.gl/maps/JERsy was empty and derelict even back then. It had the reputation of being haunted and none of us ever had the bollox to venture close to it never mind going in the place!!

Thanks for the info mate it looks like I have walked straight past it lol :)
Yes pretty sure the bridge is new.

Nice one mate :) Nice to see its in good clean condition as well.Looks much too big for a 2 pdr though. That pedestal looks like a light AA mounting

Hi what sort of gun do you think it was made for my research told me it was a anti tank gun and a light anti air craft gun but as you can see from the post I edited it as some one told me it was a sighting mount thanks :)

Looks pretty much the same as the lewis gun mounts in type 23's not sure on the main gun though was there any sign of a mounting ?

I far as I know 2pdrs were used on their own carriages with the wheels detached but how it would go in and out of there is a bit of a puzzle

I didn't know that I think you are right it would have been very difficult to get it in and out of there it's defo a puzzle I am sure some one will know the answer:)

Thanks for posting this. :)

It looks a lot like the 6-pounder gun emplacements on the Taunton Stopline. In any event, this PB is not for a wheeled gun IMO. Was there shell storage inside? The pedestal in the open section is LAA I'd say.

No shell storage was obvious but it was clear something had been mounted on the walls in various places.:)

I'd go with Krela on this one. It looks very similar to the 6pdr emplacements on the Taunton Stop Line. The pedestal is for a light AA machine gun, range finders have far more substantial ones and a field gun like this wouldn't have needed one.
