Help identifying "Sort of Pillbox thingy"

Hi guys, I know that its not a pillbox, but can any of you shed some light on what it maye be please.

The only info I have to assist it that it is on a site that manufactured gunpowder and cordite from Napoleonic times

was there any other bits of concrete close by or was it just stuck out on its own

Have you looked to see if it is on the DOB.

Looks much more like a platform than a pillbox to me.

Looks like some mounting bolts of some sort on top of one of the blocks.

Sorry fellas, been a bit tied up tonight,

I took the photos a last summer on an old gunpowder factory, there is nothing on the DOB overlay about it

But I think Krela, sorry and Walsh may be on to something from this photo, they do look like some kind of mountings on the square blocks on the top, but I can't see what, a pylon or something?

Maybe a rangefinder platform like this one? Though what a rangefinder would be doing at a cordite factory in the middle of a wood is anyone's guess!

That's not a rangefinder platform... it's a half demolished observation point.

I have found it from another angle in a pano that shows the other stuff around it

I know that the building on the left is a hydraulic press house that molded the gunpowder blocks
