A misty Sunday morning saw hubby and I heading for the former Met Weather Station on the Ormesby Road, Hemsby. The station closed in 2001 and since then has deteriorated very quickly. Walking round the empty derelict buildings and piles of brick rubble, you try to imagine how it must have looked all those years ago and wonder just who Bill was and what was in his bin? I hope you enjoy the photos. Thanks for looking.

It looks to me like the roofs have been stripped off the buildings which is why they've deteriorated so badly so quickly. I would imagine they were probably sheet asbestos which is why they were taken.

Good pics.see the place is still standing just about.Did you take a look at the tower?.It felt really dodgy in a high wind when i done it.

Amazing how bad things get when the roofing goes. I've seen buildings that have lain empty for the better part of 100 years in better nick than those.

Yeah you are right. They were asbestos which is why they've been ripped off.
