Hertford ROC Post - March 2012
'Discovered' this place a month or two ago, but was just passing nearby and didn't have a camera with me. Well decided to make the best of the nice weather and went back this afternoon, camera in hand.
As can be seen, the enclosure and gate are still in situ and the site is fairly tidy.
This wasn't laying around when I first visited the site and should really be fitted, securing the hatch
Strangely I don't remember this either, it appears to be a domestic water tank full of concrete, possibly it had been put on the hatch to 'secure' it?
Anyway the hatch was not secured so full exploration was possible
As can be seen the post has been pretty much stripped out, even the hand pump having been removed.
Well that's it folks, didn't really go prepared for getting into the post, was on my own and didn't even have a torch with me so nipped in and out fairly smartly.
It looks as if someone is 'looking after' the post, but it really does need to be secured to stop it getting chaved.
