Location
Leicestershire
A once bustling housing estate for nurses working at the General hospital in Leicester. The hospital began struggling to pay for the upkeep, and maintenance of the homes, and so in 2019 people moved out and the street became derelict, vandalised, and a magnet for antisocial behaviour.
Leicester council bought the land in 2021 with a 17million plan to build 135 affordable council homes. I haven't been back since, so unsure if the the new development has started.
I didn't hang around here too long it was a extremely intimidating area, and although a couple of the buildings were accessible, I didn't venture inside. I'm stupid, but not that stupid! Plus I could hear people talking in some of the buildings. So a quick walk around with Fatty the Pug I jumped back in the car and sped out of there lol. Was surprised my car still had the wheels on! 😆

Yep looks a mess.
We have actually just priced a load of railings for a redundant housing estate in Leicester that they plan to bring back into use, it could b this one I can't remember.
It's criminal though that large estates like this sit empty while people live on the streets.

The NHS is run by idiots. Not a mile from where i am now there was a similar development of nurses flats. They were only built in the 1980's

The health board have spent a fortune having them all knocked down because of trouble keeping intruders etc out. Too fucking thick to understand that if the flats were let out that not only would they "guard" themselves, but that they would also provide an income stream...

john..
