This house can be found right at the seafront in the fishing village of Tai O, Lantau - the biggest island and the one where everyone first touches down when arriving in HK. This place itself is nothing special from an architectural point of view - it's all about the view as you will very quickly see from the pictures. My friends in Tai O gave me the heads up that this place sold for $HK2million (about £170,000) a year or so ago however nothing appears to have changed since my last visit, bar that the very rusty front door has now collapsed, and you can go inside. Not that this was particularly exciting, and the place is, predictably, completely empty.
I’m guessing eventually the house will be knocked down and completely rebuilt. They will have to do a better job than the previous builders as as you can clearly see from the pictures, this place has sunk badly on one side.
Not too sure what state this place is now in as Tai O got badly hit by the Mangkhut typhoon and as you can see from the first picture, this place is really exposed:
