Hi everyone just wanted to know how many hours a week you lot spend finding locations. I seem to loose hours looking at OS maps and Google earth and other online sources plus the endless drives out to possible sites

I go through spurts of finding places. It's easy enough to locate things in the UK but even I occasionally just browse random areas on google maps looking for leads, it's paid off before.

Finding locations on the continent takes a lot more detective work. I also found America is a tricky one to crack as they are equally as protective over a lot of their locations as the continental Europeans are. I've still managed to get more American sites pinned down than a few of my American friends who've been doing it even longer than me though.

I'm pretty sure at least 2 evenings of the week are spent scouring google, forums and maps, then chattering incessantly about places and various ideas over WhatsApp. Got a serious backlog of splores of all calibres right now.

Ye i know what you mean im always driving around with work so when i see somewhere i just make a note and then do some investigation some times you cant beat just going for a drive i lived a stones throw from a lovely farm that i never knew was there

It's down to luck. Geoffrey's House / Car Collectors / Fen Builders / Telephone Huts, etc... They're all my finds and I never reaseached them. I have several places to check out when the weathers better, only one i've shared on the Urbex Photos thread. I have had short luck with researching them.. Like through the Buildings at Risk and Street views. Tbh, I'm gonna try external reports in the future with the at risk buildings i've already visited, cos there are quite a few unassailable ones which are worth the post. I think on a bike & not planning ahead, you're going to find more.
