Dear O Dear…….

I was just about to tidy my house, when I opened the back door & seen plumes of black smoke filling the sky. What can this be, a car on fire, looks close…… So grabbed the EOS and jumped in the car, as soon as I got to the end of the road I knew where it was! I headed for it as fast as I could, knowing it would have been arson and there will be Police around! Got to the site and had a chat with a resident that is pissed off about the amount of arson at the dis-used site.
Turns out that there was planning permission refused to build flats on here, so leave it derelict and this will happen, then people nearby wont object, as flats will be better than seeing the fire engine here ever day…….

I made for a bush, cracking view however sadly the fire was out :( but never the less I took a few shots, not going to post many, as they are pretty much all the same. It’s a close as I could get as I only own a 18-55mm lens.

After I fell out of a bush, right into Police hands I was questioned who I was, who I was working for, what I was upto, and did I see anything, what a buzz, I feel like proper paparazzi! I heard them talking about a meeting at the site today about the buildings future….. watch this space.

Bloody kids!

Good work Burtarazzi! Shame thats happened though, dont blame the residents

Similar thing happened where I live, can't knock a building down to build shed loads of houses on, so some oik sets fire to it. In these circumstances I think the property owner should be made to flatten the site and turn it into a public park!

The owner probably didn't want to pay for the disposal of the Asbestos roof, now the Environmental Health will have to pay for the removal.. Or at least that's how I think it works in Scotland.....

I'm just waiting for the day when something similar happens to the old asbestos clad prefabs up at RAF Buchan. The MOD were SUPPOSED to have had them demolished by a certified contractor before the camp was sold. But sadly, that didn't happen.

Hmm. I suppose I'd better get busy with a camera before the inevitable happens. ;)

I was going to post a post like Burts.

Had arranged to take photos today with the manager of the site, got there just after 2 and was met by two fire engines-obviously not meant to photo this site.

Spoke to one of the firemen, how p*ssed off where they, 5th time this year its happened.

Copied from Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue News Desk...
