Ilford Park Polish Home, located near Newton Abbot, Devon, is the last remaining resettlement camp operated by the Department of Social Security under the Polish Resettlement Act 1947. Polish people who satisfy the criteria laid down in the Act can be considered for admission. The current residents occupy accommodation which mostly predates the opening of the original camp in 1948 the camp was made to handle 200,000 exiled Poles who had fought alongside the Allies. bit more info on the act here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veterans_Agency . The original camp has been left and the polish have a new camp just up the road from this there was a bit of stripping by the copper bandits and so the main half the site is trashed we managed to find the less trashed stuff that was a bit more photogenic than the stripped out main camp props to scrub2000 and the two other dudes we came across for the info
