Hi All
Day 6 of 14
As we were driving away from the Schoenenburg bunker we spotted these at the side of the road, these are the fill in casemate block houses in between
the main Maginot line forts, they had taken some heavy damage - re-bar death trap, but would of been rude not to get inside and have a mooch.
Built in the mid 1930`s and destroyed in the early 1940`s.
Pictures..............
Casemate 1
This is level 2
The stairs leading down to the lower level of the casemate.
Looking at what was the artillery turret well.
Rights about it for the re-bar death hell, thanks for looking and as normal all comments are most welcome.
There are a few more pictures on my FlickR site so swing on over to :-
