Stopped here on my way home from the other 2 explores I did, I had seen the other day on a walk along the High Peak Trail. Will go back soon and do the others that are nearby.

It's just down the footpath from Middleton Top Visitor Centre, can't miss it. It was operational from 1853 to 1968, there's only a few bits and bob's left dotted around but thought it would be worth sticking the pics up incase anyone wondered what was there.

Even though there's not much left it's still a nice setting to chill for a bit, especially if you like walking.

oooooooooh I like this. Is this place near the stone centre or has that place closed now? haven't been up here for years, in fact, must be at least 15 years, Cos the 16 year old was still in the pushchair then lol.

Will have to go up there again and have a good look around.

Lovely pics, and a lovely setting.

Cheers,

:) Sal

It's bit further up from the one near the stone centre. If you go to the middleton top visitor centre (where you can hire bikes) and take the main footpath that leads left if you're driving up the roads towards the centre, you will find it a short walk down :)

This is nice. Quarries are a big fascination for me and especially like places which have just a few clues dotted about. Looks a lovely place just to chill out and enjoy too. :)
