This place is really grim.
I imagined to find a dead body and that I was in a tv scene from Taggart.
Yuck.

Jawcraig Brick Works in Falkirk date from the inter-war years and were closed in the 1970s. During World War II the works were owned by Stirlingshire Brick Works Ltd, but were under care and maintenance and out of production. At the time of their closure in the 1970s, the works were operated by Craigend Refractories Ltd. The works were rebuilt and re-opened in 1987, but mothballed in 1993.

I spent ages a while back driving around back roads trying to find this place - well done for getting there :)

Is the Caldwells pub still in use? I've never seen it open, but it looks slightly too good to be derelict...

Great Site by the way. I like the giant Mangle affair in the factory. Is it some sort of Roller Press?:)

Love the blue metal doors and Shucky's 'mangle'.
Don't like the glove though...it looks like a severed hand! Queue Taggart music...roll credits...
Fab pics, 8. :)
