This is following on from the main plant area of the colliery as we headed in to the main block.it was pretty big.there was offices, gymnasium, there was trainers and clothes just left here.then all the locker rooms were they got changed for there shifts.never seen so many lockers.the canteen was here, the pit shaft entrance too.it is well boarded up though.in the canteen it was Christmas time and the tinsel was still hanging up,and an expensive bottle of unopened wine in the kitchen.the thing that hit me was the board saying goodbye.the block was just as they got up and left.quite a sad sight really

The office block.did not spend long in this bits.the lights still worked, and an alarm noise was buzzing

So it was across the sludge back to our cars.it was well worth getting filthy to see this place.and it was nice for me too see a colliery too,as my grandad worked the mines as did my great grandad and great great grandad who lost his live down the mine at a young age.ny man was the char lady and always told me when the siren went off in the day you knew something had happened underground.and silence reigned over the place

That first pic brings back memories. I had a meeting with Richard Budge right there in 1999. How time flies.

You're right, defiantly worth splitting it up into two reports, certainly does it justice, fantastically shot.
