Visited one humid summer afternoon with Priority 7.
L&H Polymers is located in Great Billing, Northampton. The factory was once a large busy place of work which developed the flooring for the Northampton bus station as well as some of the flooring in the London Underground as well as the Tokyo Underground in Japan.
Every report I’ve ever seen of the place it’s been trashed. I didn’t expect to get there and find mint company records, or machinery in tact etc. What drew me to the place was the shear dereliction, and the way the light falls through the holes in the roof.
Most of the warehousing areas looked like this:
Larger, first floor production area:
Although a lot of it looked similar, you’d come across occasional abnormalities:
Signage:
Lo and behold, I did manage to find a records office, with a few documents / drawings:
Hand drawing of Sam Fox, Page 3 model c.1984:
The site is huge. Despite the knowledge of security being onsite I decided to make my way up the outside of the tallest building to see the whole site:
Cheers for looking.
