Mansfield Brewery - The demolition has started - 2006 explore

Yep, it's started. Should take some time. Here's how it was when I explored it in late 2006:

It's about time, in all honesty. That place was bad enough a year ago - can't imagine what it's like now. Still, I'll never forget dweeb just marching across a floor strewn with needles and christ knows what, and then finding a stash of long past-it beer and having a taste...

Yes, it's about time they did something with the site. Not exactly the most awe inspiring of explores. Far too chavved/stripped/pikyed/etc.

Nothing wrong with out of date beer; it only has a date on it because they can't guarantee the % after a certain time

Shame on anyone who has visited a derelict brewery and not sampled it's tipple. I can boast trying beers in 6 different derelict breweries, and one sauce factory!

This was the first site i did (and actually took pics of instead of just looking around), Visited in 2006 with Ab$olute and Potter. I remember there being hundreds of new and used needles and syringes all piled up on the main stair well.

I never did get back and never got across the road to the bottling plant. Was travelling the country instead, so forgot all about a revisit.

I drove past today and I must take some photo's before its all gone

I noticed part of it had been demolished last week when we were on the way to Nottingham, but had the toddler in the car so didn't manage to get back there. They did put the demo on hold for a while as there were reports of birds nesting in the buildings. But after a search from the RSPB, they found it all clear, and the demo has restarted.

Another part of history soon to be gone. :sad:

Fred would of took the Chimney down piece by piece could imagine the Cuddy works chuntering in welsh

Ill be there filming it (shame about the bloody big exclusion zone, all round the whole brewery site) but there should be some good spots
