Montrose Water Works Filter House, Scotland, May 2009

[spacepunk]

This has laid abandoned for a good few years now and is slowly collapsing in upon itself. There was a fire here recently and loads of sand covers the floor, also the roof is full of broken glass so any sudden noises or bangs may cause it to fall.

A worried Mrs.Spacepunk looks in

Must admit to only going half up the spiral staircase as I had the spacepunk family with me and they pleaded with me not to go up any higher. The stairs were a bit unsteady but I think I will return for further investigation.Alone.

Hi Spacepunk. Good shots as always mate. I have on occasion taken the Shuck Pups with me on an explore so I know exactly what you mean when the Female of the species worries about you! I think you did the right thing with the staircase especially with the onlookers. I would never take a risk with the pups about!

The spiral stair is safe enough – but the timber ladder from the top landing to the roof is very dodgy.
