A surprising amount of machinery left there. Didn't expect to see that! lol Looks like an interesting explore, that.
Nice first post Downlow...and welcome to DP. :)

Some good shots there, you covered it pretty well :)

If you're intending to explore more places, you should consider using a tripod and longer exposures. Your shots with flash are good, but to get better illumination in larger rooms a longer exposure definitely works best.

Thanks guys and V70 your not the first to tell me that so I'll deffo be trying that next time ;)

Nice little explore, and good first post here. It's good to see the main section of this place done lately. It wasn't possible for a few years. Did you not take a look in the little lean too extension at the side?
That's pretty interesting in itself.

Yes that's the one. Some macabre looking stuff in there at one time. Long rubber gloves, and chemical bottles e.t.c It looked like John George Haigh's bathroom :)

We own a large twin roll rolling machine that was modified & then maintained by Murphys so very interesting to see the works.Murphys specialised in making & modifying machinery for the leather industry I believe. Our machine was known as the pig flattening machine.in the tannery.. Apologies if I shouldn't have posted this picture of it but it adds a little background (?) This photo shows the machine on its way to its new home on the back of a 10 ft long trailer. As you can see it only just fits on there.

Having a think_.jpg

The 2nd picture shows it in all its glory.

It was interesting to see that our machine seemed to be painted in "house colours".The machine weighs a good ton & half, hence the need for all those winches.
