This is the former anulance transfer station attached to the west side of newcastle general hospital, the station housed 1 A&E ambulance with a paramedic crew and 1 PTS (non-emergency) ambulance with an urgent crew (not paramedic trained). The purpose of the crews was to provide emergency transport from the general, to either the Freeman ospital or the Royal Victoria Infermary, both in Newcastle.
The vast majority of the general is now derilict but there is still a few wards and departments that are live. I was unable to get any shots of the outside of the station, but all that gives away its purpose is a green door with amulance parking only on blue sign beside it.
This station is unusual in the fact it has no garage, ambulances parked on the road outside.
Sorry some pics are a little dark but there was only 2 working lights, the rest were are wires!
