Anyone who travels between Glasgow and Stirling/Falkirk on the A80 will be used to seeing Castlecary viaduct.
It's a little bit if a local landmark and the motorway passes right under it.
Right beside it is an old 18th century bridge lying in ruin.
It's been a story in the local paper quite a few times recently....

I went down today to see for myself what all the fuss was about.....

Not much to see really but I'm glad they've managed to save it.

I remember passing it in the car during the winter.
It was really easy to see then as there was less greenery.
Bit of a jungle at the moment and hard to make out much detail.

At one point there was a debate that it might be Roman. I mean come on!

Worth a look though if you're local as it's really easy to get to.

Cheers
Matt

That's totally delightful. Hope it can be saved.
I can sort of understand why it was thought to have been roman, as the arch bricks are pretty much like roman brick...but not the ones on the supports!
