How about some history or expanation about the bridge? I can see some hut type structures with what looks like some winding gear behind them but I cant workout if it's a transporter bridge like Newport or a canal lift bridge! but apart from that some nice photos.

Well done for getting out and up there but Gingrove is right fella, Just a couple of lines so we know what were looking at, also urm? has one of the legs on your tripod snapped off a bit short? ;)

Nice one, would appear to be able to lift a section of rail track up to allow sailing boats access up Deptford Creek, wonder when it was last in operation?
Just found out that it was 'only' built in 1963 to replace a wooden swing bridge that had been there since1838

There were two previous bridges one from 1836 was replaced in 1884 and this one was built in 1954.Also found out that it closed 30 years ago so 1982 or thereabouts.

THIS website gives it's date of build as 1963

Nice, ive been up here a couple of times, your shot give good coverage. You've got the bridge , the windings, the pumping station nearby, and you seemed to have stayed up there a little while as your shots seem to go from daylight to night time and street light turning on. There isnt much cover up there as you can see everyone on the station platforms ( just out of shot) then only places to hid are in those little sheds that house the winding equipment but its a bit cosy, spongy underfoot and you wont be alone in there ;)

The other couple of shots are nice also as you've had a look around the area a little. That little industrial estate (with the graff) used to have parties back in the day and the other side of the road where the new build is now was the same. There are some clues to this due to 20ft plastic cakes with candles, and other party evidence littered about the place.

All in all a nice mosey about. Thanks for, sharing and well done (many would think twice to climb that bridge and stay up there for as long as you did), look forward to more.

PS Depford Creek dow walks at low tide down there. They supply waders and guide go out there with you. Worth doing. http://www.creeksidecentre.org.uk/
