Hi all!
After my first "virginal" site proved to be to tougher nut to crack without doing time I opted for a plan B, which I literally stumpled on whilst driving home!
This site has been covered before in a lesser forum but hopefully I'm not duplicating someone's efforts here!
right on with the show!
The Old Weston Vinyl company had been trading on this spot since 1886, the present factory was constructed in 1963 and is based around 3 interconnecting shop floors under a asbestos roof covering around 80,000 square foot in total.
The company made it known to the local council in the mid 90's that the site would welcome offers and this was partially successful in 1998 with the sale of some of the site to a housing company. Weston Vinyl eventually wrapped up in 2003 and the site is awaiting a buyer for development.
It is now in pretty poor condition, although clear of the usual industrial machinery. The shop floors are interlaced with deep trenches and a few substantial foundations for heavy plant. It's now inhabited by the flying rat squadron and the local urban artists have had their way too.
Some cleaning required
