Paddington Green Police Station, London 2024

Work on the station was completed in 1971. As well as providing local services, the station was used as an interrogation centre for prisoners suspected of terrorism. Underneath the station were sixteen cells located below ground level, which had a separate custody suite from the building's other cells.

The station closed in late 2018 and is undergoing demolition.

Unfortunately by the time I got round to doing this one even though its been closed since 2018 and housed a squat it was half demolished with barely anything left. Custody gone, Cells gone and the list goes on.

Canteen was a mess and being stripped

The living quarters were stripped leaving just this...

Some original signs still in place dotted around the building.

the exterior, and particularly the tower, looks a fine example of early 70s brutalist concrete architecture. I'm surprised it wasn't listed.

The tower converted into flats, the rests into shops - and a small police station.

Great report and great pictures
Most all the police stations, fire and ambulance stations.
Plus all the accommodation has gone also.
My local police was demolished for a Tesco extra!
I would have no idea where to find an officer these days.
It is ridiculous to demolish a building which can clearly be reused for housing.
Now the limited green space round it will be used for tiny cramped ‘units’
