Par is an area dominated my the China Clay industry, there are several works formerly run by English China Clays still drying the Clay extracted up the coast at St Austell the works at par prepare and dry china clay for use in the pottery, chemical and paper making industry's.

These kilns are the older cousins of those still in operation they were used to dry the china clay (extracted by water jets aimed at the seams) I don't know exactly when this site was opened or the exact date of closure.
