Hi, there - I'm really grateful to you guys for rooting around these places and taking pictures.. My grandfather Henry Hunt was (I am told) sent to St Joseph's Hospital just after the first World War. He'd been gassed and eventually died in 1924. I'm trying to find out more about him and his short life.

If anybody knows anything about the history of the place, or which order of Nuns ran the place, I'd be really grateful.

Wow this place looks great. Anyone up for a visit sometime soon?

hi findinghenry, not alot is known about this place, not alot online,
i do know it was a hospital for mothers who wished to pay and have there babys there and of course an orphanage, you could try and and go to the harris and find more out our you could go and get his death cert if you know most of the details, also there is a web site were you can see the army records, but you have to pay, and as your grandfather was gassed he would have most prob been took out the army and into the hosp like you said. so there would be his war pention papers, that web site is ancestry, if you dont have a subscription to it, i would be more then happy to help, as this is not the site to be talking about this i will PM you with my e-mail address so can help you out more,.
